Why should I choose eLearning?
eLearning provides a self-paced learning experience in which no specific amount of seat time is required. The courses are challenging and engaging, with no boring lectures to sit through. Through eLearning, you can earn nationally-recognized credentials with the help of a one-on-one mentor. In eLearning courses, you are the only student in the classroom and are able to receive personalized attention and learn at your own pace.
Who teaches the eLearning courses?
All TMA instructors are industry professionals with at least nine years of manufacturing experience. Instructors are trained in coaching and mentoring techniques to augment the online learning experience while assuring accountability of completion. Many instructors have participated in manufacturing standards development and implementation and are considered subject matter experts in their specific areas.
What is MSSC?
MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council) is a nationwide, industry-based skill standards, assessment and certification system for all sectors of manufacturing. The MSSC goal is to train and credential the U.S. workforce with high-performance knowledge and skills necessary to boost the productivity, innovation, and competitiveness of U.S. manufacturers.
Four key modules are critical to build the core knowledge and skills necessary in advanced manufacturing and are part of the MSSC standards: Safety, Quality Practices and Measurement, Process and Production, and Maintenance Awareness.
What is NIMS?
The National Institute for Metalworking Skills is a nonprofit organization formed in 1995 to support the development of a skilled workforce for the metalworking industry. Through the NIMS credentialing program, individuals -- both workers and students -- will be able to certify their skills against industry standards and prove that they are suited for occupations in manufacturing. These standards are benchmarks of excellence for metalworkers and their employers.
